Feyenoord has received a bid from Debreceni VSC for goalkeeper Plamen Andreev. The Hungarian club hopes to sign the Bulgarian keeper permanently. Andreev returned to Feyenoord in the summer of 2024 after the club paid 1.2 million euros to Levski Sofia. Despite his ongoing contract until mid-2029, a breakthrough under the lat in De Kuip seems far away. At the start of the new season, Timon Wellenreuther is the undisputed first choice and leader of the selection. As a result, the club management must decide whether the Bulgarian international can compete in the competition, or whether a permanent transfer is the best solution for his stagnant development. Debreceni VSC sees the young goalie as an interesting option to strengthen the goalkeeper squad, which is currently led by first choice Patrik Demjén. The team finished last season in fourth place in the Hungarian league, with the same number of points as the third-placed team. With this ranking, the club, which has been led by the new coach Gert Remmel since the beginning of the month, secured a ticket for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League. If the seven-time Hungarian champion succeeds in completing the transfer, the transfer value of the former Levski Sofia player will be the highest in the entire selection in Debrecen. For Feyenoord, a sale would mean that after a fluctuating year, an end would come to the cooperation with the former goalkeeper talent.
