Feyenoord has reached a verbal agreement with OGC Nice for the transfer of Charles Vanhoutte. The Rotterdam club will pay a fixed fee of 5.5 million euros for the 27-year-old midfielder, with the possibility of this amount increasing through bonuses. Vanhoutte has also reached an agreement for a four-year contract at De Kuip. He is expected in Rotterdam on Wednesday for his medical examination. If successful, his contract will be signed until mid-2030.

Vanhoutte's arrival is a significant step for Feyenoord, which aims to strengthen its midfield for the upcoming Champions League campaign. Technical director Dévy Rigaux has been searching for some time for a player with the right qualities, and Vanhoutte is seen as the ideal candidate for the number six role. The club's management has plans to significantly renovate the squad this summer.

To make room for the new signing, Feyenoord has decided to allow In-beom Hwang and Jakub Moder to seek new clubs. Hwang, who is currently active at the World Cup in North America, has attracted interest from Real Betis, while Moder is recovering from knee surgery. Both players have contracts until the summer of 2028, but Feyenoord is aiming for a transfer fee of at least seven to eight million euros for Hwang.

With Vanhoutte's transfer, Feyenoord hopes not only to strengthen its squad but also to realize its ambitions in the Eredivisie and Europe. The club has a clear vision for the future, and with this signing, it seems they are well on their way to achieving their goals.
